The key

By Ram Tzu (Wayne Liquorman)
(1950 - )

Ram Tzu knows this...

Every time
You find an answer,
The question
No longer seems important.

Among the scented trees

He's there among the scented trees
(from The Lover of God)

Rabindranath Tagore

He's there among the scented trees,
playing the notes he has taught you.
Too late for embarrassment, shy doe
nibbling at the forest's edge,
shawled in deep blue shadows.
He's calling you. The flower of your soul
is opening, little deer.
The river of scent will lead you
deep into the trees where he waits.
The bihanga also plays tonight --
do you hear his more distant flute?
Black bees carry the moon's luster
from flower to flower.
The rest of the grove will bloom tonight, I think.
How he looks at you, young animal.
He shames the moon with his own dark light.

Let's bow down before the young Lord,
the deep blue flowers at his feet.

Where I've Been, Where I'm Going

Just returned from an excellent conference at UConn...revved up for teaching/art/life. All good. Excellent museum there: http://www.thebenton.org/exb_current.php If you wind your way through the permanent collection you will find a piece that feels something like the image above.

This Great Society

A new poem of mine currently appears in the February 2011 addition of This Great Society.

A “by peers, for peers” online creative journal, This Great Society provides a collective outlet for artists, musicians, writers, photographers, etc. Themed monthly, my poem "Dream of Being Everywhere" is published under the auspices of "Journey".

Enjoy!

Long time gone

"Handstand" by Jennifer Davis

In keeping with tradition, let's return with

a) some writing news:
  • "The Last Man Anthology" was published this past fall and I am quite pleased with how nice the anthology looks!
  • I have several poems out or ready to send out, a few more in the editing stage.
b) some art:
